With an experience of 25 years of teaching in the department, Prof. Muttan has published 79 research articles in national and international conferences and journals, and is on the boards of several international journals as advisory member.

He had earlier held the posts of Finance Officer (in-charge), Deputy Registrar (finance in-charge), and NCC Officer, winning two gold medals in the All-India NCC Commission of Training. Prof. Muttan also served as Deputy Chairman of Anna University Sports Board and Deputy Director of Centre for Affiliation of Institutions.

He is currently member of the UGC Expert Committee for selecting major and minor research proposals in electronics, and UGC nominee as advisory committee member for the SAP – DRS (Special Assistant Programme – Departmental Research Support) programme.
